Lord Yupa

Bleh.

Last night blew some serious chunks for trying to sleep.

Our place doesn't have air conditioning. And it got pretty hot last night. Even worse, the humidity is way up right now. Lastly, the neighboor's right next to us have this huge and loud fan right outside my window, and I can't sleep with the window opened when it's on.

So, I had the joy of spending last night with the window closed. I woke up feeling so sticky and disgusting, I could barely contain myself in a mad dash for the shower.

I hope this doesn't become a regular occurence, or I'm in for a miserable month.

Cheesy amusements.

Everyone's familiar with the LJ Homepage, right?

Check it out with a silly option passed to the index.bml page here.

Now find the silliness.

Yeah, I told you it was cheesy. It still amused me when I heard about it, though. ;-)

Vi musings.

"Finally, I observe that an effective Vi user simply edits files faster than Emacs people. Last but not least, you don't need a third hand (or nose) to type impossible key combinations. Don't get me wrong: Emacs is a great operating system--it lacks a good editor, though."

Mandatory meeting.

I just got back from a mandatory department meeting.

I shot 22 on 9 holes of putt-putt golf.

Gotta love mandatory meetings like this. ;-)

I guess there's some kind of 'morale builder' competition going on right now, in which there are prizes for the departments depending on how well they play a round of putt-putt golf.

There's also a prize for the department with the best participation, and my manager decided she wants to win that. So, she changed the optional 9 holes to a mandatory one, and sent out an official meeting notice for it. ;-)

The only downside is that it's a bit hot and humid outside right now. Worth it, though. ;-)
