The night goes on...

It seems that life has a way of kicking you when you're down.

My brother is trying to convince me that we need to let a 15 year old drunk and high girl spend the night at our house, because she doesn't have anywhere else to go. His words: "She told her parents that she was staying at her friend's house, and now it's 2am, and she can't stay at her friend's so she has to stay here."

He doesn't seem to make the connection that if she lied to her parents, it's her responsibility to find another place to crash. Just because she doesn't want to go home doesn't mean she should stay here. He also doesn't seem to think that she can just go home and tell her parents that she ended up not staying with her friend after all. I know most parents wouldn't really care much about something like that.

Basically, my brother is just being an ass. He's actually prolly only arguing like this because I said I didn't want her staying. If anyone else had said it, he'd prolly agree. He has some strange thing about arguing with everything I say, for no reason at all. I've never understood it, but it's been remarked on by a number of friends and my parents.

I've even offered to give her a ride to anywhere she needs to go, and help her try to find an alternate place to stay.
