Reinstallation fun.

I just spent the past couple hours installing Windows 2000, after removing Windows ME from my new laptop.

It was a bit of a pain in the butt, but oh well, such is life. It's mostly finished now, along with the majority of the software I needed to install. Now I just need to get a token ring adaptor so I can use the network at work for net access, and then I'll install Debian on here, too.

Had an annoying Blockbuster experience today. I rented a few movies the other day, and when I went to watch The First Power, a really good movie, when I found out that some idiot put the wrong movie in this box, and I actually had some old movie called, The Entity. I was all for going back immediately and swapping movies, however, my roommate wanted to give the Entity a try. So, we did.

It was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. It dragged on with a less than interesting plot, and then it just ended, without any finish to the movie. It was bad.

Managed to get the right movie now, and they gave me a free rental, too.

Re: oh yea

Yeah, as annoying as Windows 2000 is, it's still lightyears ahead of Windows ME, or any of the other DOS based versions.

Yep. . .

That's the one drawback to working for Big Blue. Most of their buildings were wired for token ring, and while they seem to be making a switch to Ethernet, it's a very long, slow, and ugly process. ;-)
